12 Hours of TOCfE Instruction
Prerequisite: None
General Objective: Provide an introductory level of 3 TOC tools to enhance learners:
- Internal communication
- External communication
- Problem solving and decision making skills
Specific Learning Objectives:
- Establish criteria of an effective method to resolve conflicts and make good decisions
- Define a conflict, action or decision through two points of view in a simple, fair and non-provocative way (without blame)
- Differentiate between the concepts of wants and needs in a conflict and decision
- Identify underlying assumptions/inferences between wants and needs in a conflict or dilemma
- Intuitively identify break-through solutions, actions and decisions that do not compromise needs (win-win)
- Apply the concepts of the CLOUD to the development of empathy
- Identify the positive effects of an idea or action
- Predict potential negative effects of an idea or action
- Identify cause and effect relationships between ideas or actions and resulting outcomes
- Identify and evaluate the assumptions that explain the connections between ideas or actions and resulting outcomes
- Create new solutions that can prevent negative consequences of an idea or action
- Clearly state a goal as an Ambitious Target
- Predict obstacles that prevent the attainment of Ambitious Targets and create feasible strategic plans to overcome them
Qualification: Upon completion of required hours of instruction and examples of all three tools, participants will receive a certificate stating they have successfully completed TACT training.
